Seventeen-year-old Ema, who has never known her father, lives with her mother on one of the Prague prefab housing estates and works in a second-hand shop. Deciding to be happy and find love for herself and her abandoned, aging mother, she naively throws herself into erotic relationships and finds herself hopping between flats, beds and dreams. The lives of the characters in this tragicomic story intertwine on various time planes, in dream-like situations and harsh reality. An absorbing feature debut, particularly for the female acting performances ñ Jana Hubinska as Emaís mother won a Czech Lion in 2002.
