Synopsis

Made in Sikkim the film studies the principles and history of a sacred Buddhist dance theatre called Pangtoed Chaam, its place in the changing Sikkimese society and its dwindling exponents. It is believed that Guru Padmasambhava had prophesied and consecrated Sikkim as a Hidden Land where Dharma would find solace in troubled times. Taking the cue, Sikkim became a Tibetan kingdom in the 17th century. The film attempts to find the various implications of the sacredness in a changing land to its traditional inhabitants.
