  • Lotus Award for Lifelong Dedication to Cinematic Art: Euthana Mukdasanit

    The WFF presented an honorary award to director Euthana Mukdasanit, who has been praised for bringing a new spark to the Thai film industry for his use of beauty and reality. One of his films "Butterfied and Flower", which was first released in 1985, won seven national film awards including Best Picture and won best feature at the Hawaii International Film Festival in 1986. The national committee of Thai culture recommends "Peesue Lae Dokmai" as one of the best "100 films that Thai people should watch".

    รางวัลพิเศษมอบแด่ ยุทธนา มุกดาสนิท ผู้กำกับมือรางวัลของประเทศไทยซึ่งเคยสร้างผลงานที่มีชื่อเสียงจำนวนมากเมื่อสองทศวรรษก่อน และได้รับยกย่องว่าเป็นผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์คนสำคัญที่นำความเปลี่ยนแปลงมาสู่วงการภาพยนตร์ไทยด้วยผลงานสะท้อนชีวิตจริง เช่น "ผีเสื้อและดอกไม้" ภาพยนตร์รางวัลตุ๊กตาทองปี 2528 ซึ่งได้รับรางวัลจากเทศกาลภาพยนตร์ฮาวายในปี 2529 และคณะกรรมการวัฒนธรรมแห่งชาติยกย่องให้เป็นภาพยนตร์ 1 ใน 100 เรื่องที่คนไทยควรดู
