• Poster Contest for The 8th World Film Festival of Bangkok

  Artists and graphic designers again have the chance to be a part of 8th WFFBKK with our second annual poster-design Contest

• Two Thai short films in the 67th Venice film festival

  Four seasons by Chaisiri Jiwarangsan and Woman I by Nuntanat Duangtisarn are the first time of Thai shorts in this prestigious fest

• Mundane History theatrical release

  Mundane history by Anocha suwichakornpong was the opening film for 7th WFF 2009. It will be released on 5 Aug 2010.

• Call for entries: 8th World Film Festival of Bangkok

  Submissions for the 2010 festival are being accepted until October 1. No submission fee is requested.

• Tiger Award for Mundane History from Rotterdam.

Message from festival director

When I was young film-lover watching movies rarely seen in ordinary theatres - at academic institutes, foreign institutes and embassies - I always dreamed of one day organizing a film festival because I truly believed that Thailand, and especially Bangkok, had the potential to become a world capital of culture and that a film festival could be just the tool to help make that dream come true. It could fulfil our eagerness to learn about cultures in the wider world. read more
